Transmedia Intervention Territory
Exhibition Space

THE CHALLENGE: Design a multidisciplinary space for contemporary art, design and cultural workshops.
THE CONTEXT: Transmedia Intervention Territory (T.I.T.) was a temporary cultural space situated on the top floor of an office building in Bucharest. Before becoming a cultural venue, the space had been partitioned into several office rooms with specific amenities.
THE CONCEPT: After tearing down all the dividing walls and the faux ceiling, in order to increase its amplitude and height, two raw beams were discovered. They became the central pieces of the space. The intention was to create a minimalistic feeling, enhancing though the presence of the initial construction elements, like the two beams and the raw cement pavement. Minimal intervention was made, after achieving an open space. Although the space needed an open layout, I designed a long wall between the two support pillars in front of the entrance, in order to cover the view on the entire space and create an itinerary for the visitors.
